At some point in your life, you will wrestle with the question, "Why am I here?"
What is this all for? I’ve wrestled with this many times. Looking for patterns and threads of connectivity to answer the question with finality.
I’ve tried to anchor the answer with a resounding ‘to reach my potential,’ and yet that’s not quite right, either.
Because what does reaching my potential do?
The truth is seeking the answer to the bigger question is part of the journey. And yet, I know one thing for sure: I’m passionate about fostering human connection.
At its core, human connection is a fundamental aspect of well-being. And what you consume, you become.
This became true for me when I found myself stuck in a hospital with a sick baby and no ability to control the outcome. So, I consumed content that fueled my mind and spirit. What else could I do?
The power of content, for me, is undeniable. If it could shape my perspective and help me out of an anxiety-inducing time, then how could it help others?
That’s the thread I started to pull.
As it turns out, human connection translates into shared experiences, support, trust, vulnerability, empathy, and communication. All things that go into creating and telling a great story.
So when Mark Kilens and Nick Bennett shared their vision for their business with the belief that there’s “too much ‘me’ and not enough ‘we’.
I leaned in.
It’s not about more content, it’s about developing content serving a higher purpose of fostering meaningful human connection. This is why Share Your Genius exists.
