💡 Sharing the Genius
Our favorite inspiration to help you be great
ROI gets discussed. A lot. Rachel shared her thoughts recently on podcasts as it relates to revenue. It may not be exactly what you expect.
Knowing the intricacies of multichannel content promotion is key, and we loved this article from our friends at Casted all about creating the right content for the right channel as it relates to your podcast.
And speaking of content, here is a throwback to Ryan Law’s article about The Four Forces of Bad Content. To know what is good content, you have to know what is bad content.
🏖 Sandbox It
Ideas for you to implement this week. Literally. Try it once and see if it works.
Audience growth is the number one concern of podcasters, according to Chartable’s research, as heard at Podcast Movement. There is a lot of opportunity here for best practices in engaging your current audience and building that steady growth.
Build that community. Your audience wants to interact with you. Reach them where they are at. Like their posts, respond to their comments, offer a way for them to reach you. Letting them know that you appreciate them, are available, and want to keep offering them that value to their lives will go a long way.
Surveys. If you want to know what they are thinking, just ask them! Getting feedback on what they are hearing, what they want to hear and how they want to hear it will only make your value to them grow and ultimately your audience grow.
Promote more than one way. Make sure to use a multichannel strategy to promote your podcast and topic to the different audiences you touch. Bring on the newsletters, the blogs, the multiple social platforms (and YouTube!)
For more secrets and insights, talk to your producer at your next strategy meeting or you can book some time with Rachel Downey, our founder. Here’s a link to her calendar to make it easy.
🎙 Mike Check
No, it’s not a typo. It’s a quick audio tip from our favorite (albeit a little grumpy) audio engineer, Mike.
The number one rule of being a great interviewer is “be a good listener”. Huge tip: don’t talk over your guest. You may not notice it during the conversation, but our sound guy does. Let them answer, and if they get on a tangent, let them go and then bring them back to the topic by asking them to expand on something they got very passionate about within their answer. I’m going to say it again…Don’t talk over your guest.
